This example might be useful to learn the structure of FEI Velox .emd files.

The data is organised in the HDF5 format.
The XEDS spectrum-image stream is placed in

/Data/SpectrumStream/"someSenselessCode"/Data

Importing a spectrum-image also requires reading the metadata and the frame location table

/Data/SpectrumStream/"someSenselessCode"/Metadata
/Data/SpectrumStream/"someSenselessCode"/FrameLocationTable

You can convert this spectrum-image into DigitalMicrograph with the basic version of temDM MSA plugin.
The temDM MSA plugin should be installed in combination with the HDF5-reading plugin of Tore, Niermann, TU Berlin.
Use "Import" tool, "import FEI Velox".
To see the original HDF5 structure, enable "Velox show HDF5" option in the tool settings.

The source code for import can be found in the FELMI DigitalMicrograph scripting database.
